Origin
Every plant grown in its native terroir
A plant gives its best where it grows naturally. That is why dōTERRA sources from more than 40 countries, working with local growers, and each plant is harvested at the right moment, when its compounds are at their peak.
Distillation there is both a science and an art: distillers combine modern techniques with know-how passed down through generations.
This network of growers, the Global Botanical Network, supports thousands of jobs. For wild plants such as frankincense, harvesting follows the FairWild standard, which protects both the resource and the harvesters.
Verified purity
The CPTG® standard: the most tested oils
With no official standard for essential oils, dōTERRA created its own protocol: CPTG®, “Certified Pure Tested Grade”. More than 30 scientists and independent laboratories apply it to every batch, at three stages: after distillation, on arrival at the plant and before bottling.

The example of Lavender
Independent, published and peer-reviewed studies have compared the lavender oils sold on the market. dōTERRA's oil serves as the reference.

Purity
Two thirds of the lavender oils analysed were contaminated or of inferior quality. dōTERRA Lavender is the reference against which the others are compared.

Consistency
Its main compounds remain stable from batch to batch and from year to year: you get the same oil in every bottle.

dōTERRA Lavender oil is better absorbed than synthetic products: a study conducted with Prime Meridian Health and the National Center for Natural Products Research measured levels nearly twice as high.
