Console essential oil blend brings together eight plants from trees and flowers: Frankincense, Patchouli, Ylang Ylang, Labdanum, Amyris, Sandalwood, Rose and Osmanthus. Nothing but resins, woods and precious flowers, with no bright citrus note: it is the most serious of dōTERRA's emotional blends, and the slowest to open up on the skin.
Its soft, floral scent encourages a feeling of hope, and its tree and flower components encourage grounding and renewal. Floral, earthy and hopeful, it gives off a comforting aroma during a massage and helps create a comforting environment. A diluted drop over the heart or on the wrists in the morning, a few drops in fractionated coconut oil for a slow shoulder massage, three drops in the diffuser when the house needs softness. Giving the bottle to someone dear to you is, in fact, the first use dōTERRA suggests.
Taken separately, Frankincense and sandalwood stay austere, Rose and Osmanthus quickly turn sweet. Assembled in these proportions, they hold one another up.

At the heart of Console dōTERRA
Oil from the resin of Boswellia carterii, frereana, sacra and papyrifera
Often called the king of essential oils. It is obtained by scoring the bark of trees grown in semi-desert country, then distilling the dried resin that beads from the cut. Its scent combines woody, resinous and faintly citrus notes. Used in ancient Egypt for perfumes and balms, it gives the blend its depth.
Oil from the leaves of Pogostemon cablin
A herbaceous plant from South-East Asia whose leaves must ferment before distillation, as tea does. This ageing develops its musky, sweet scent, which keeps asserting itself over the years in the bottle. It gives the blend its staying power and its earthy depth.
Oil from the flowers of Cananga odorata
Its star-shaped yellow flowers, picked by hand early in the morning, have been used in South-East Asian ceremonies for centuries. Rich in benzyl benzoate, its scent is intensely floral, almost heady. It is a signature you recognise the moment the bottle is opened.
Oil from the wood of Santalum album
Indian sandalwood, whose ritual use goes back more than four thousand years. The tree must reach some thirty years of age before its heartwood is rich enough to be distilled. Its creamy, milky scent lasts for hours on the skin: the base note par excellence.
Oil from the flowers of Rosa damascena
The queen of essential oils, and by far the costliest: dozens of kilos of petals go into a single bottle, picked by hand before sunrise. Its deep floral scent is a pillar of fine perfumery. A trace is enough to transform a blend.
