Java Citronella essential oil is the outdoor oil of the dōTERRA range, for camping trips, hikes or evenings on the terrace. Distilled from the leaves of a tall grass native to Asia, it differs from Lemongrass, its cooking cousin, by a more floral, slightly rosy, bright and fresh scent.

Rich in citronellal and geraniol, it cleans surfaces, indoors as well as in the garden. Diluted in fractionated coconut oil, it is applied to the skin before heading out. It soothes the skin and scalp, supports a clear complexion, and a few drops in shampoo boost cleansing while leaving the hair shiny. In the diffuser, its aroma is cheerful and optimistic; in massage, it becomes calming.

Instructions

Aromatic use: add three to four drops to the diffuser of your choice.

Topical use: always dilute in a carrier oil, 5 drops per 10 ml for massage, 5 drops per 5 ml in the bath, 1 drop per 10 drops as a perfume. For local use only.

Interesting fact

Citronella grows to about two metres tall within a few months. First harvested after six months, then every three months, it can give up to five harvests a year.
