Turmeric essential oil is the golden spice of the dōTERRA range, for savoury cooking and hot drinks. It comes from the rhizome, grown in India and Nepal and distilled both dried and fresh: the oil keeps the spice’s warm, earthy and slightly woody scent.
In the kitchen, a trace on the tip of a toothpick lifts scrambled eggs, an omelette, white rice, a soup or sautéed vegetables with a peppery note; a drop with coconut milk, honey and tea makes a turmeric tea. In the diffuser, its comforting aroma creates an energising atmosphere, alone or with Bergamot. On the skin, a drop in your morning cleanser or moisturiser promotes clean, healthy-looking skin; diluted in a carrier oil, it accompanies a soothing massage after exercise.
Turmeric leaves the spice rack for the bathroom, without losing its place on the stove.
