Among dōTERRA essential oils, Blue Lotus is an exception: it is a flower extract of Nymphaea caerulea, the Egyptian blue water lily, set in a base of fractionated coconut oil. The ancient Egyptians associated it with immortality; Buddhism made it an emblem of wisdom and awakening. The flower is blue-violet with a bright yellow heart, and its extract is rare.

Its aroma is floral, soft and fresh. Ready to use, it rolls onto the pulse points through the day, onto the neck and wrists as a personal fragrance, onto the face and hands in the morning and evening skincare routine, where it helps keep skin looking moisturised and the complexion radiant. The blue water lily of the Nile, everywhere on the frescoes of ancient Egypt, where it opened at sunrise and closed at nightfall. Its flower is too delicate for distillation, so an extract is made instead. Its scent, floral and faintly watery, is among the rarest in the range.
