Clary Sage essential oil is the relaxation oil that dōTERRA intends first and foremost for women: it is one of the main components of its ClaryCalm blend. It is distilled from the flowers of a tall sage grown in France and Russia, and owes its herbaceous, slightly floral scent to linalyl acetate, an ester.
Diluted in a carrier oil, it is massaged into the skin to calm and soothe it, and three to five drops on the abdomen during the menstrual cycle make for a soothing massage. One to two drops in shampoo or conditioner promote healthy-looking hair and scalp. In the evening, one drop in a warm bath with Epsom salts brings a feeling of relaxation before a restful night.
