Basil essential oil is the herb of Italian cooking in the dōTERRA range, for those who want its fresh flavour all year round. Distilled in Egypt from the leaves, it concentrates around three kilos of basil into a 15 ml bottle: a single drop flavours an entire dish.
In the kitchen, it replaces dried basil in a tomato sauce, a soup, a dressing or pasta, and gives water a herbal note. Its high linalool content gives it a calming, relaxing aroma, appreciated in the diffuser during a work session. Diluted in a carrier oil, it provides the skin with a cooling sensation in hot weather and a soothing one in massage. Added to a household cleaner, it boosts its cleaning power.
